Working for over 45 years, CSV is now the UK’s largest volunteering and training charity. Each year it helps over one million people. It works through over 500 individual projects around the country, all funded by a variety of income streams. It also has six subsidiary charities across the country providing training and education to young people.
Sayer Vincent were appointed auditors of both CSV and its six subsidiaries in 2007. We also provide assurance through grant audits. To ensure the audit is completed on time, we have two audit teams working alongside each other - one on the main CSV audit and the other on the subsidiaries. We also have two partners on this job to ensure that a partner is always available for advice and meetings.
Time management, co-ordination and communication are vital aspects of this audit due to the geographically dispersed nature of CSV’s operations. We work closely with CSV’s Financial Accountant in order to improve the year-end process and audit each year.
“Sayer Vincent has carried out three annual audits for CSV and we are now preparing for the fourth. We have been very pleased with their audit approach which blends the best of modern and traditional practices resulting in a practical and down-to-earth job well done. The audit staff are both knowledgeable and helpful and the relatively short chain of command between the staff on the ground and the partner signing off the accounts makes for a smooth and, relatively, stress-free audit.”
