About us

Sayer Vincent was established over 25 years ago specifically to work with charities and social enterprises so all our clients are in this sector. Our specialism enables us to blend technical knowledge with practical experience of the issues you face. Our broad client base means that we regularly deal with the commercial aspects of charity activities as well as the common charity areas. Our partners and staff are committed to the charity and not-for-profit sector:
  • all our consultants have worked in charities
  • all our trainee accountants receive charity-specific training
We go the extra mile...
Sayer Vincent aims to make a significant contribution to the charity sector, providing free advice and training as well as input into consultations and support for sector initiatives. Here are just some of the ways we contribute:
  • Membership and support for sector bodies such as Charity Finance Directors’ Group and Charity Tax Group
  • Publication of books on finance and tax topics in the Practical Guide series
  • Organisation of the annual Charity Accountants’ Conference
  • Speaking at numerous charity events and conferences for organisations such as NCVO, DSC, CFDG
  • Pro bono work in technical screening for the annual reports awards, training for CFDG, NCVO and Cass Business School.
Work that adds value
In advance, we discuss with you the help that you need to ensure that any engagement we take is on is going to add value to your organisation. If we do not believe that we are the best people for the job, we will say so, and we tell you if we think that you could find a better of way of getting to the same outcome. Every assignment we undertake has to make a positive contribution to your organisation and the achievement of your objectives.

Transparency on fees
We charge fees that we think are fair and reasonable. We estimate fees in advance for all assignments. For annual audit work we will review fees every year to ensure that efficiency gains are reflected in reduced fees, or changes in scope recognised early and discussed with you.

Feedback
We value your feedback and welcome this at any time. Annually we do ask the people we work with at our clients to complete a questionnaire about our service. Additionally, we will arrange post-assignment review meetings to evaluate all aspects of the work undertaken and outcomes achieved. Partners and managers maintain regular contact with our clients and welcome the opportunity to discuss our service.

Equality and diversity
Sayer Vincent bases all its relationships on a foundation of respect for individuals. Employment opportunities are open to all candidates and we welcome clients from all sectors of society. We do not tolerate harassment in any form.

Environment
We try to tread lightly on our environment. We are moving to a greater use of electronic documents and ways of working and re-use and recycle wherever possible. Where travel is necessary, we use trains and public transport as much as possible.
