Pam Craig

“As a partner at Sayer Vincent I am motivated by helping clients to maximise their resources and their reach and ultimately support a wide range of beneficiaries. It is very rewarding to see the difference they make to people’s lives and feel as though I have contributed to their ability to do so.”

Discovering Sayer Vincent in 1993 was the turning point in Pam’s career as an accountant. Always a champion for the not-for-profit sector and those less fortunate then herself, she was delighted to be able to utilise her accountancy skills for the benefit of Sayer Vincent clients.

Pam has been an audit partner at Sayer Vincent since 1998. Her extensive portfolio of charity and not-for-profit audit clients ranges from local and national service providers to charities involved in overseas development work.  Pam’s advisory work includes due diligence for potential mergers, facilitation with trustees on strategic and governance matters, reviewing finance systems, fraud investigations, working with funders to establish the appropriate level of core funding and assisting clients with the recruitment of finance staff. Pam is a Fellow of the ICAEW and holds a Diploma in Charity Accounting awarded by the ICAEW and Cass Business School.

Never one to waste time or resources, Pam provides organisations with solid support, particularly through difficult periods such as the current economic climate. Her experience helping a wide range of organisations with a wide range of concerns means that she gets to the heart of key issues and can recommend a solution. Pam’s audit client portfolio includes Membership organisations such as Arthritis Care and Down’s Syndrome Association, Community Groups such as The Renewal Programme and Stockwell Park Community Trust, Education Providers such as the British Thoracic Society and Landscape Institute, Social Care organisations such as Solace Women’s Aid and Spitalfields Trust, and Arts organisations such as South London Gallery and Community Music.

Prior to joining Sayer Vincent, Pam qualified as a teacher. Her experience means she is ideally placed to lead training assignments. Her relaxed approach and love of accounting and finance ensures sessions are an enjoyable learning experience. Pam has ultimate responsibility for our trainee accountants’ programme.

Pam is the firm’s compliance partner and ensures that our staff deliver an excellent quality service and have specialist technical understanding of the sector. Pam is the Sayer Vincent representative on the charities sub-committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, which reviews and discusses a wide range of technical consultations by the Auditing Practices Board, HMRC and Charity Commission.
