Paul Sypko

“Charities and not-for-profits are demanding users of IT and the web, and are often more advanced in this regard than commercial firms, despite their limited resources. It is great to be working in a sector where there is real opportunity to make a tangible difference to an organisation’s overall effectiveness and, ultimately people's lives, by instilling good practice in IT management.”

Paul is a partner at Adapta Consulting and one of Sayer Vincent’s IS associates. Paul has more than 10 years’ experience of helping client organisations become more effective and efficient, particularly through the strategic and operational use of information systems.  Prior to joining the firm, Paul was a non equity partner in a firm of consultants which specialised in the not-for-profit sector. He also has significant experience of the commercial sector, having formerly worked for Booz & Company, a leading firm of strategy consultants, where he was awarded their Professional Excellence Award.

Paul has led assignments for more than 100 organisations, including charities, membership organisations, trade unions, trade associations, royal colleges, professional institutes, non departmental public bodies, schools and other not-for-profit and commercial organisations. Paul’s recent clients have included the British Marine Federation, Cranstoun Drug Services, the Fremantle Trust, the International Transport Workers’ Federation, Mind, the National Autistic Society, the Overseas Development Institute, Tate Britain and WWF-UK.

Paul specialises in developing IS strategies, planning IT projects, selecting new systems and CRM systems, business process improvement, structure reviews, outsourcing, contract negotiation and information security management.

Paul holds a MA (Oxon) degree from the University of Oxford (Economics and Management). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Consulting and holds a voluntary position as Chief National Assessor for their “certified management consultant” qualification and accredited practices. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a Chartered Manager, a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management, and a member of the British Computer Society “Elite” (Effective Leadership) in IT group.
