Adriana Miron Assistant Audit Manager

What has been your career path so far?

Before starting formal audit training, I spent several years working in an accountancy practice, gaining experience in accounting and financial reporting by supporting a range of clients across different industries, including the not-for-profit sector. I then joined a three-year training programme, primarily focusing on audit while also handling accounts preparation, all alongside studying for the ACA qualification. After qualifying, I progressed to a Senior Auditor role and later became an Assistant Audit Manager. This journey has helped me build strong technical skills and a deep understanding of the not-for-profit sector.

What do you enjoy about the charity sector?

Supporting the charity sector through my work is motivating, as it allows me to contribute to organisations that create real, positive change in people’s lives. Each charity has a mission that drives its work, and it is rewarding to help them remain financially accountable and resilient. I also enjoy supporting smaller charities through volunteering and fundraising, and find it especially fulfilling to work with organisations focused on children’s health and wellbeing.

Best part of the job?

The best part of the role is the variety and purpose-driven nature of charity audit. Every organisation has its own mission, structure, and challenges, so no two audits are ever the same. The work is dynamic and fast-paced, which makes it both engaging and meaningful. I also value the collaborative aspect of the role, whether that involves working closely with clients or supporting trainees as they develop their skills.
