Working with us

Firstly, Sayer Vincent is a place where we value you as an individual. We are not a big organisation and that means that we can be flexible and we can work with you in a true partnership to help you to develop. Learning, development and fairness for staff are so important to us that they are part of our organisational values.

We run an employee survey every year, so we know quite a bit about what our staff enjoy about working for SV – most commonly they value their colleagues, our clients, the friendly atmosphere and working in a firm where there are shared values. We also welcome staff comments about the things that we need to improve – our approach is to work together to get to the best outcome, with the main mechanism for this being our staff forum.

With learning and development represented in our values, being a training practice for trainee accountants is part of our DNA. We welcome a new group of trainees every year and support them to complete their ACA training. This is one of our contributions to the not-for-profit sector, since if they choose not to stay in audit, many will go into charities as qualified accountants. Having a group of great trainees here makes this a vibrant place for our qualified staff and everyone who works with us in roles outside of accounting.

At SV, partners may own the organisation, but they are as approachable as any other staff member. This is important to us, since it supports our view that every staff member has a contribution to make and needs to be supported as an individual to develop and make their full contribution. We want to hear suggestions from a year one trainee or a member of our client services team as much as those of senior colleagues.

If you join our team, you will be given responsibility and trusted to get the job done. You will also be given support and training to ensure that you have the knowledge, skills and tools to do your job well.
