What has been your career path so far?
I’ve been navigating the world of audit for over seven years, a place where spreadsheets and strong coffee reign supreme. Along the way, I’ve moved from ticking checklists to truly understanding what drives organisations forward — and I’m still on a mission to keep growing, learning, and taking on new challenges.
What do you enjoy about the charity sector?
The charity sector is unique — every recommendation we make has the potential to directly strengthen the impact of the organisation’s work. I enjoy spotting ways to simplify and streamline processes so that more time, energy, and resources go towards the cause itself rather than administration. It’s satisfying to know that small operational changes can translate into meaningful real-world outcomes.
Best part of the job?
Mentoring and training junior team members is a genuine highlight for me. I enjoy breaking down complex audit concepts into something that clicks, watching people grow in confidence, and sharing those little “insider tips” that make the job easier. There’s nothing better than seeing someone you’ve trained flourish and start mentoring others.
Something People May Not Know:
While I’m sociable at work, outside of it I’m a champion of the cosy, low-key lifestyle. I love quiet evenings, keeping things simple, and recharging away from the noise — though I can be persuaded out for good food or an occasional adventure.
What do you get up to outside of work?
In my free time, I focus on fitness, dance, and enjoy reading a bit too.
Fitness and dance are my favourite ways to switch off from audit life — whether it’s hitting the gym, learning a new dance routine, or just moving for the fun of it. I’m also a keen reader, with a bookshelf that’s somehow always overflowing… and, truth be told, very little ever done about it. For me, a perfect weekend might involve a workout, a good novel (probably from that same overflowing shelf), and a big mug of tea.
