Charity Accountants’ Online Conference 2026

We’re pleased to announce that tickets and the programme are now available for the Charity Accountants’ Online Conference 2026, delivered by the Directory of Social Change (DSC) in partnership with Sayer Vincent.

This conference has always been at its best when it reflects the real shape of charity finance work: technical requirements and reporting obligations, yes, but also the judgement, oversight and communication that sit around them.

A programme that follows the work

The agenda is structured across four streams: from the essentials through to strategic finance, governance and personal development, allowing attendees to move between topics that are immediately practical and those that shape longer‑term resilience.

Across the two days, sessions range from core areas such as SORP, VAT and fundraising in practice, and preparing for audit, through to issues that tend to surface in board papers and risk registers: closing assurance gaps, recognising financial warning signs, strategy in uncertain conditions, and what governance looks like when it’s tested.

Beginning with the trustee lens

The conference opens with a keynote from Kate Sayer on The reality of being a trustee, drawing on experience as a trustee, adviser and Charity Commission board member.

Practical depth, not just updates

The programme includes both an introduction to SORP and a session focused on SORP 2026 in practice, with worked examples and common pitfalls. Alongside this, there are sessions on grants and contracts, risk management, trustee reporting and accountability, effective governance in practice, and communicating insight beyond the numbers.

Access after the event

Tickets include access to recordings and session materials after the conference, making it easier to revisit technical sessions and share learning across teams.

Previous delegates have described the conference as one they return to year after year. As Janine Bradley (B:Music Ltd) put it: “Best finance conference for charities around – I recommend it to many other organisations.”
